Jamestown, N.D. (AP) – Jamestown police are looking for two men believed to have been involved in an assault at a local motel before leading officers on a chase. Authorities say two men and a woman forced their way into a room at the Buffalo Motel about 2 a.m. Wednesday, assaulted a couple and stole some items. The woman was arrested at the motel. The two men fled in a vehicle and led officers on a chase during which speeds exceeded 90 mph.
Bismarck, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s portion of a nationwide settlement with Wells Fargo is 1.2 million. Overall, the bank is paying $575 million in a settlement with attorney Generals from all 50 states and the District of Columbia that are investigating fake accounts opened without the knowledge of Customers and a string of other questionable practices.
Bismarck, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle is asking state lawmakers to add one new Judgeship in Bismarck and six additional court employees to help make up for increased workloads due to previous budget cutbacks. The Chief justice made for his appeal Thursday in his State of the Judiciary speech to a joint session of the North Dakota House and Senate.
Fargo, N.D. (AP) – Fargo police say two children suffered minor injuries when a pickup truck collided with a school bus. Authorities say the pickup collided with the short bus at an intersection around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the bus had a green light while the pickup had a yellow flashing light and intended to turn left. Police say the pickup driver was driving too fast for road conditions and was unable to stop,causing her to collide with the bus. The driver of the bus was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two of the three children on the bus suffered minor injuries. Police cited the driver of the pickup for failing to yield the right of way when turning left at an intersection.
