Jamestown’s ‘Running of the Pink’ brought out the community on a record-breaking morning before the storms on Saturday.
Hundreds of runners and walkers trekked the 5K and 10K routes to raise money and awareness for breast and cervical cancer research and treatments. This year was the 18th annual Running of the Pink, with funds raised now exceeding a total of $400,000.
Event organizers say it was a record breaking year for the race, with over 730 walkers and runners and over $56,000 raised.
Funds stay local, going to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center, No Excuses, and Central Valley Health’s Women’s Way Program.
